Managed Services Networking & Security Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Networking & Security Practice Manager, Principal Architect, and Managed Services team to build and manage the Networking & Security managed service.

• Execute event management, dynamic monitoring, observability, and predictive monitoring/AIOps.

• Develop operational runbooks and automation to ensure repeatable service operations.

• Design and implement secure network architectures, focusing on cloud hosting, operating system hardening, and integration of security tools.

• Create and maintain firewall/IPS rules, test security products, and evaluate application/system security controls.

• Produce network diagrams, flowcharts, and documentation for security products and procedures.

• Work alongside network systems teams to remediate infected systems and support secure network operations.

• Lead and mentor technical teams while managing budget, contract milestones, and SLA compliance.

• Address and resolve security alerts, manage customer expectations, and provide executive-level reporting.

• Develop training modules and materials for security personnel.

• Coordinate efforts with sales, pre-sales, and product teams to deliver solutions and onboard clients into managed services.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for clients, validate Statements of Work, and ensure service delivery meets contractual obligations.

• Oversee and monitor customer security devices remotely.

• Troubleshoot storage and network configuration issues in collaboration with vSphere administrators.

• Utilize SIEM tools such as Splunk and ArcSight for monitoring, analysis, and reporting activities.

• Implement cyber-attack defense strategies and threat-detection techniques to safeguard enterprise environments.


⛳️ Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of experience in network and security managed-services operations.

• Strong operational skills in monitoring, observability, automation, incident and change management, as well as cost management.

• Demonstrated experience managing networking environments that support production and mission-critical workloads.

• In-depth understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP networking and connectivity models.

• Experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.

• Extensive knowledge of networking principles, TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, authentication, and general networking.

• Familiarity with NSX, cloud security, and secure configuration management.

• Proficient in cyber-attack response, threat detection, and risk-based controls.

• Exceptional communication and customer service management skills, including conducting service reviews with customer leadership.

• General knowledge of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks and security-aware operations.

• Strong familiarity with Palo Alto firewall environments.

• Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.

• Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.

• Experience with integrating AI into service offerings and utilizing AI/ML platforms for ticket resolution, optimization, and AIOps is highly desirable.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CEH, GIAC, CISA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNA, SANS, ITIL, or PMP.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% may be required.
