This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and execute long-term strategies and plans for cybersecurity.
• Oversee RMF initiatives for a substantial distributed system to secure an ATO.
• Identify, evaluate, and analyze security risks while implementing mitigation strategies.
• Develop and uphold security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assist in incident response efforts, covering detection, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Support vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and various security evaluations.
• Collaborate with IT specialists, business stakeholders, and external partners.
• Remain updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.
• Mentor junior security professionals and educate staff on security best practices.
• Engage with government clients to discuss program cyber risks.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification required.
• Advanced IT security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GIAC preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Recommended 5–10 years of experience in IT security and risk management.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Network Architecture security principles and implementation tools.
• Knowledge of networks, protocols, devices, firewalls, and VLANs.
• Understanding of encryption, pseudonymization, and data masking techniques.
• Proficient in risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation methods.
• Skills in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents.
• Capability to troubleshoot security issues and devise solutions.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, IT risk management, DoD RMF controls, security audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture principles.
• Familiarity with secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of security configurations for Windows, Linux, and Unix systems.
• Proficiency with zero trust security tools including IDS, DLP, IAM, firewalls, and ZTNA.
