This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead the implementation of major component exchanges (MCE), which include blades, gearboxes, generators, main shafts, nacelles, and tower sections.
• Supervise crane operations, rigging plans, and lift execution in collaboration with crane providers and site management.
• Ensure that all activities comply with OSHA, GWO, and company safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-job briefings, develop lift plans, and perform job hazard analyses (JHAs) before execution.
• Coordinate the daily operations of technicians, rigging teams, and subcontractors on-site.
• Confirm that tools, equipment, and parts are available and meet project specifications prior to mobilization.
• Act as the main point of contact for field-level technical concerns during component exchanges.
• Ensure compliance with OEM procedures, torque specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Monitor and report daily progress, delays, and challenges to site management.
• Assist with commissioning and functional testing following the installation of components.
• Identify and address risks associated with weather, logistics, and equipment limitations.
• Provide mentorship and training to technicians on best practices for MCE and safety protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade certification is preferred.
• 3–7+ years of experience in wind turbine construction, maintenance, or repowering in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading or assisting with major component exchanges (MCE).
• Strong knowledge of turbine components, rigging, and crane operations.
• Proficient in reading and executing lift plans and OEM technical documents.
• GWO certifications are mandatory (Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling).
• Rigging certifications are preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work at heights.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
