This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of intricate case investigations and negotiate substantial claims independently.
• Evaluate coverage, liability, and financial exposure, showcasing expertise in reserving strategies and financial insight.
• Oversee litigation strategies and create customized resolution plans alongside top-tier defense counsel.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the claims organization, aiding in the professional development of fellow claims professionals through direct mentorship and exemplifying best adjusting practices.
• Assess training initiatives and propose enhancements.
• Deliver pertinent reports to underwriting and reinsurance while collaborating with underwriting, agents, vendors, and legal teams to refine policy language and enhance underwriting risk selection.
• Optimize workflows and address inconsistencies.
• Participate in special projects.
• Attend industry events and continuing education seminars to remain updated on best practices.
• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with business partners.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent experience is acceptable.
• Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred or equivalent legal/claims experience.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, AIC) are highly preferred.
• Extensive background in managing highly complex, high-value claims with considerable legal, financial, and reputational risks.
• Established authority in the negotiation and resolution of intricate claims.
• Proven expertise in examining policy coverage, legal liability, and regulatory frameworks across various jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated capability to manage litigation strategies and direct legal counsel.
• Experience in mentoring peers and contributing to the establishment of claims handling standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to simplify complex information and address sensitive matters with professionalism.
• Competence in producing clear, factual, and objective work products without personal opinion.
• Proficient in choosing appropriate communication channels and exhibiting empathy towards diverse stakeholder groups.
• Highly organized with a proven track record of managing complex workflows and competing priorities.
