Mainframe Analyst, COBOL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain COBOL programs within a mainframe (z/OS) setting, managing tasks independently.

• Execute and uphold online transactions utilizing CICS.

• Design and enhance DB2 data access, incorporating embedded SQL, analyzing access plans, and tuning for performance.

• Engage with VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS/RRDS) in both online and batch processes.

• Conduct impact assessments on highly critical legacy systems prior to implementing changes.

• Identify and rectify incidents and abends, ensuring consistent stability.

• Offer technical guidance to junior team members and take part in code reviews.

• Collaborate directly with business units for requirement clarification and technical feasibility assessments.

• Create and uphold technical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience in COBOL development within mainframe environments.

• Practical experience with CICS in production settings.

• Familiarity with DB2, including embedded SQL within COBOL and performance considerations.

• Expertise in handling VSAM files.

• Capability to work independently on critical, high-volume legacy systems.

• Preferred: experience in Card systems (issuance, authorization, billing, disputes, or acquiring).

• Preferred: familiarity with VisionPLUS in any module: CMS, FAS, TRAMS, ASM, ITS, CTA, CDM, MBS.
