Machine Learning Engineer, AI/ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +6 more locations.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AI-driven functionalities throughout the entire ClickHouse Cloud platform stack.

• Construct backend inference services alongside user-friendly frontend interfaces.

• Create robust and scalable APIs that connect ClickHouse database functionalities with AI/ML inference systems as well as external and internal AI services.

• Implement and oversee integrations with the wider AI/ML ecosystem and adhere to industry standards.

• Integrate models into production systems while ensuring monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.

• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.

• Manage the ML pipeline comprehensively, encompassing data handling, training, and evaluation.

• Fine-tune or develop custom models when pre-existing models do not meet requirements.

• Stay updated on cutting-edge advancements and incorporate enhancements into ClickHouse products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in production settings.

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies.

• Proven experience in integrating and deploying AI/ML models within production systems.

• Knowledge of inference APIs and vector databases.

• Capability to drive features from initial concept to production with minimal oversight.

• Ability to convey technical ideas to a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Practical ML experience using Python, Jupyter, PyTorch, and other common ML libraries.

• Hands-on experience with computing clusters such as Ray and Slurm.

• Proficiency in designing reliable experiments for architectural decisions.

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially related to AI/ML deployment services (preferred).

• Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines (preferred).

• Experience with ClickHouse (preferred).

• Knowledge of embedding-based systems, including retrieval, ranking, and recommenders (preferred).
