This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in defining and advancing the next generation of AI-driven capabilities.
• Assume a senior technical leadership position in applied AI.
• Identify promising techniques, create unique approaches, and influence the evolution of new ideas into product functionalities.
• Collaborate across research, product, and engineering boundaries to implement machine learning and Generative AI in addressing complex supply chain challenges.
• Provide contributions through technical leadership and hands-on efforts, utilizing modern tools and agents to explore concepts, develop initial systems, and guide the transition to productization.
• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in applying machine learning to tackle complex real-world challenges, with a proven history of developing innovative approaches or adapting emerging techniques in practical environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in building prototypes, proof-of-concept projects, and early systems that showcase the value of new ML and AI methodologies.
• Profound expertise in contemporary AI techniques, with substantial knowledge in areas such as agentic systems, LLMs, RAG, recommendation, optimization, explainability, and broader language-based AI strategies.
• Strong technical judgment with the capability to critically evaluate new technologies, distinguishing between lasting opportunities and fleeting trends.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams through expertise, credibility, and collaborative efforts.
• Proficient programming skills in Python and experience with modern ML and data tools.
• Experience in closely partnering with engineering and product teams to transition promising ideas into scalable product capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective engagement with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while clarifying complex issues.
• A practical, product-focused perspective on innovation, valuing enterprise software quality, maintainability, and customer impact.
• Capability to identify opportunities for accelerating the SDLC through innovative use of AI or other tools, while maintaining architectural consistency, secure design, and high code-quality standards.
• Ability to rigorously review AI-generated code for correctness, architectural appropriateness, integration risk, and edge case support, coupled with a growth mindset and a preference for experimentation.
