M365 Cloud Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead Microsoft 365 consulting projects that engage customers, managing the technical delivery from initial discovery to implementation and final handoff.

• Design and implement Microsoft Entra ID solutions, which encompass both hybrid and cloud-only identity, Conditional Access, MFA, Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management.

• Deploy and configure Microsoft Defender security technologies, including Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, and Defender for Cloud Apps.

• Conduct hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Microsoft 365 workloads, such as Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Intune.

• Plan and carry out tenant-to-tenant migrations within Microsoft 365, covering identity, messaging, collaboration, and security workloads.

• Provide support for migrations from non-Microsoft platforms, like Google Workspace, when relevant.

• Create high-quality technical documentation that includes deliverables from Planning and Design Sessions as well as Project Hand Off documentation.

• Contribute to the development of configuration guides and operational runbooks.

• Serve as a trusted advisor during customer interactions, clearly articulating risks, recommendations, and design decisions.

• Maintain strong billable utilization by consistently contributing to delivery-focused consulting tasks.

• Mentor and assist other engineers, engage in shared learning activities, and enhance the organization's knowledge base.

• Support the pre-sales process and participate in marketing events when specific technical expertise is needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in IT engineering or consulting roles.

• Previous experience in a professional services or consulting organization providing billable client work.

• Proven experience leading customer-facing technical projects.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and privileged access.

• In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Defender security suite and the integration of its components across the Microsoft 365 platform.

• General to thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 workloads and endpoint management via Intune.

• Strong grasp of Zero Trust security principles and modern identity-centric security architectures.

• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.

• Approach challenges with curiosity and creativity, willing to explore beyond comfort zones into unfamiliar technology areas, dedicating time to learn, test, and develop innovative solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, appropriate for both technical and executive audiences.

• Ability to manage multiple client engagements while ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Microsoft certifications relevant to Identity, Security, or Microsoft 365.

• Experience executing tenant-to-tenant migrations or cross-platform migrations.

• Experience in migrating workloads from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.

• Active Microsoft Certifications that include: MS-102, SC-400/401, MS-700, MD-102, AZ-300/AZ-305, AZ-500/SC-500, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, MS-721.
