This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Monitor and trace LTL and common-carrier shipments from the time of booking until delivery.
• Proactively recognize and communicate any exceptions, delays, or service failures.
• Examine LTL invoices and freight bills for inconsistencies, which may include reweighs, reclasses, accessorials, and duplicate charges.
• Provide guidance to customer service and account management teams regarding billing discrepancies, disputes, and resolutions.
• Assist customer-facing teams in constructing LTL orders, focusing on freight classification, packaging, dimensions, weight, and carrier selection.
• Work with LTL carriers to address overages, shortages, and damages, managing freight claims until resolution.
• Assess LTL carrier performance, including on-time delivery rates, exception occurrences, and service trends, and convey findings to management.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Identify opportunities and assist in implementing efficiency enhancements, cost-saving measures, and process improvements.
• Support system updates, reporting, customer-facing documentation, and rate analysis.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager.
• Minimum of 2 years of practical LTL experience at a freight brokerage / 3PL or within an LTL carrier.
• Proficient understanding of NMFC freight classification, density-based pricing, accessorial charges, and the ability to interpret an LTL freight bill.
• Familiarity with a brokerage TMS and LTL carrier online portals.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills in a professional context.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and efficient; capable of performing under pressure in a dynamic environment with reliability and initiative.
• Dependable remote working setup: includes backup power, internet, computer, and 2 to 3 monitors.
• Availability during core U.S. Eastern business hours, Monday–Friday, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM U.S. Eastern.
• Previous experience with or for a third-party logistics company is preferred.
• Experience in filing and successfully winning LTL freight claims is preferred.
• Knowledge of CRM and business intelligence/reporting tools is preferred.
• Experience collaborating with distributed remote teams across various time zones is preferred.
• 15 paid business days per calendar year after 90 days, in accordance with contract structure.
