This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee both internal and vendor loss control resources, ensuring thorough assessment of property and casualty hazards and controls for existing and potential policyholders, dedicating at least 50% of your time to conducting Loss Control inspections.
• Analyze data related to the branch's book of business to:
• - Identify opportunities for account servicing
• - Determine the loss control resource requirements for policyholders and agents/brokers
• Deliver the GNY Loss Control value proposition through effective service to policyholders.
• - Generate loss analyses for service accounts to identify areas of focus
• - Create service proposals that incorporate qualitative data collection
• - Secure customer agreement and implement service plans comprehensively
• - Evaluate and interpret outcomes
• Work collaboratively with branch management and underwriters to:
• - Acquire new business through direct interactions with agents/brokers and clients, including but not limited to:
• - Delivering presentations at broker, GNY, and association-sponsored events
• - Formulating and presenting service strategies for policyholders
• - Organizing renewal underwriting surveys and following up on recommendations
• Create loss control guidance documents, evaluation tools, and supplementary forms to aid in underwriting decisions and reinforce the GNY Loss Control value proposition.
• Facilitate the enhancement of internal technical expertise within the assigned office.
• Engage in professional development to enhance skills, knowledge, and abilities, including pursuing relevant designations and industry insights.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
• A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, safety, or risk management OR an Associate in Risk Management designation is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in evaluating property and casualty risks is required.
• Experience in presenting risk enhancement opportunities in a way that encourages customer commitment and compliance with recommendations.
• Familiarity with local and national building and fire regulations is essential.
• Strong time management capabilities.
• A professional demeanor and exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and the ability to operate a vehicle.
• Capability to climb stairs and/or ladders to assess properties.
