
Long-Term Care Sales Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Accountable for driving sales, cultivating business, and addressing customer requirements within a designated long-term care (LTC) territory.
• Oversees relationships with prescribers, pharmacists, facility decision-makers, and other members of the LTC care team to ensure appropriate patients are identified, initiated, and sustained on therapy.
• Establish and nurture robust relationships with all members of the LTC resident care team, including physicians, physician-extenders (NP/PA), consultant pharmacists, dispensing pharmacists, and nursing facility leadership/staff.
• Promote Acadia products by providing compliant clinical, disease state, and reimbursement education tailored to meet customer needs.
• Identify and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and objections using advanced selling techniques.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of customers, practices, and local/regional market trends; leverage this knowledge for business planning.
• Formulate and implement quarterly territory business/action plans, utilizing data to optimize reach, frequency, and impact within budget constraints.
• Provide insights on pricing, reimbursement, and LTC-specific profitability parameters; serve as a liaison between customers and Acadia for access-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with sales management, territory colleagues, and cross-functional partners (e.g., managed markets, marketing, operations, training) to meet business needs.
• Represent Acadia at conferences, exhibits, product launches, and training sessions; contribute to regional and national initiatives.
• Mentor and train new or junior Sales Specialists; share field insights and engage in cross-functional projects.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and LTC regulations affecting medication use and resident care.
• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably with a focus on life sciences.
• For the Sales Specialist position, a minimum of 3 years of sales experience is needed, including at least 1 year in pharmaceutical or related healthcare sales, with a preference for neuroscience experience.
• To qualify for the Sr. Specialist level, a minimum of 8 years of healthcare sales experience is required, including at least 2 years in complex or account-based selling environments.
• For the Executive level, a minimum of 12 years of healthcare sales experience is necessary, with at least 3 years in complex or account-based selling environments.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and role-model capabilities at a regional level.
• Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and self-motivation with a business ownership mindset.
• Must reside within the territory (or within 30 miles of its border) and, if necessary, be located within reasonable proximity to a major airport.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required; must be able to drive a company vehicle daily and travel independently by air. Travel may be up to 80%, including overnight stays and occasional after-hours work.
• Must fulfill vaccination and facility access requirements for customer visits and event participation.
