
Litigation Paralegal – Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Proactively manage and support an assigned litigation caseload while also taking on team leadership responsibilities.
• Provide continuous training for Paralegals and Paralegal Assistants, enhancing their skills and fostering independence.
• Serve as a hands-on resource for team inquiries and daily case support.
• Ensure compliance with all firm protocols, policies, and procedures among team members; escalate any concerns to the Paralegal Department Director as necessary.
• Communicate with adjusters, defense attorneys, and other parties involved in litigation.
• Collaborate with legal assistants to e-file and e-serve court documents.
• Draft discovery requests, answers, and responses.
• Prepare and serve subpoenas.
• Develop and maintain discovery indexes to track the production of all parties by Bates stamp numbers.
• Review defendant discovery responses and deposition transcripts for follow-up actions.
• Schedule depositions and request witness fees when required.
• Create binders for motions, mediations, arbitrations, and exhibits.
• Update case analysis within one week of receiving the defendant's discovery answers.
• Prepare for trial by organizing witness statements, exhibits, and UJIs.
• Attend trial as required.
• Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials for attorneys; save and name all documents in SmartAdvocate according to firm Naming Protocol.
• Calendar all case information in accordance with firm calendaring protocols.
• Perform backup intake calls according to intake protocols.
• Post all costs, including anticipated costs that have not yet been invoiced.
• Collaborate with all staff assigned to your cases to advance each case towards a successful resolution.

• 5+ years of experience as a paralegal in plaintiff's personal injury litigation — experience in active litigation stages is mandatory; pre-litigation experience will not be considered.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory, team lead, or management position overseeing paralegal or legal support staff.
• Strong understanding of state, local, and federal court rules.
• Familiarity with e-filing, legal documentation, and litigation management software (experience with SmartAdvocate is a plus).
• Proven track record of training, mentoring, and motivating others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional time-management abilities.
• Genuine empathy for injured clients and a steadfast client-first approach.

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally if a case goes to trial.
• Ability to work during Mountain Time business hours (Mon–Thu 8–5, Fri 8–4).
