Litigation Operations Consultant, Projects & Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +22 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the litigation project portfolio, assessing litigation proposals through division intake and updating SharePoint and Jira until resolution.

• Utilize project management and change management principles to encourage the adoption of new processes, tools, and workflows.

• Recognize operational gaps, risks, and areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.

• Promote the adoption of new and revised processes, workflows, tools, and vendor solutions.

• Engage with attorneys, legal personnel, litigation leadership, vendors, and business partners while maintaining confidentiality.

• Organize, prepare agendas for, and lead project and project portfolio management meetings.

• Create reports, analyses, and presentations tailored for leadership audiences.

• Collaborate with Claims Law and Subrogation Law leadership to identify needs and translate them into project, process, technology, and change initiatives.

• Manage project management tasks across litigation operations, including monthly meetings, progress monitoring, prioritization, and resolution of roadblocks.

• Work with IT, strategic sourcing, facilities, finance, and other business functions on cross-functional initiatives.

• Directly lead key litigation operations projects.

• Travel as necessary for divisional/team meetings and other in-person engagements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or a combination of education and applicable experience.

• At least 8 years of pertinent legal, legal operations, or litigation operations experience.

• Proven experience in managing operational functions and supporting cross-functional initiatives.

• Extensive knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, and procedures pertinent to legal or litigation support roles.

• Strong familiarity with law office and litigation office administration, facilities management, budgeting, purchasing, and legal technology.

• Practical knowledge of legal operations, litigation operations, project management, financial management, and process improvement concepts.

• Capable of managing personnel, prioritizing competing demands, and functioning with minimal guidance.

• Skilled in analyzing issues, devising solutions, and facilitating implementation.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and matter or case management systems.

• Competent in preparing reports and analyses, leading meetings, and collaborating across functions.

• Experience in litigation operations within a law firm, staff counsel organization, or insurance company.

• Background in supporting attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff in a litigation context.

• Paralegal certification or other relevant professional certifications preferred.

• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

• Certification in change management, project management, and/or process improvement.

• Experience in preparing presentations and documenting workflows using PowerPoint or similar tools.

• Understanding of change management or project management methodologies.

• Experience supporting multiple law offices or teams dispersed across various locations.

• Proven track record of leading moderately complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel as required for divisional/team meetings and other in-person engagements.

• Must possess authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.
