Litigation Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the drafting and preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence.

• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and readily accessible.

• Aid attorneys and paralegals in managing discovery by gathering and summarizing evidence, organizing responses, and creating discovery binders.

• Maintain and oversee case calendars, ensuring that all deadlines, appointments, and hearings are tracked and communicated to the legal team.

• Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing client inquiries as necessary.

• Assist in the preparation of trial materials, including the creation of exhibits and the organization of trial binders.

• Conduct basic legal research as directed and summarize findings for attorneys.

• Collaborate closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure efficient litigation processes.

• Manage case files, prepare documents, and assist with trial preparations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Previous experience in a Personal Injury Law Firm.

• Experience in a US Law Firm is a significant advantage.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Familiarity with legal research databases is preferred.
