Linux Administrator – L1 Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee Linux servers, applications, and services through enterprise monitoring tools

• Track CPU, memory, disk, swap, network, and process utilization

• Address alerts and incidents triggered by monitoring systems

• Elevate unresolved concerns to L2/L3 teams following the escalation matrix

• Conduct daily health assessments of servers

• Create, adjust, and remove user accounts

• Execute password resets and unlock accounts

• Manage permissions for file systems and directories

• Diagnose and resolve fundamental Linux OS problems

• Review system logs and pinpoint recurring issues

• Process service restart requests and carry out basic troubleshooting

• Ensure timely updates on tickets and adherence to SLA

• Engage in shift transitions and operational evaluations

• Confirm the completion status of backups

• Monitor disk usage and filesystem growth, along with filesystem management

• Conduct log rotation and cleanup tasks

• Organize server reboots and maintenance operations

⛳️ Requirements

• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems

• Basic understanding of networking principles

• Basic understanding of troubleshooting methodologies

• Basic understanding of IT service management processes

• Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu Linux, and Oracle Linux

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP/SFTP, Ping, Traceroute, and Telnet

• Basic skills in package installation and updates using YUM/DNF, APT, and RPM

• Practical knowledge of any cloud platform and infrastructure

• Preferred certification in any Linux version and vendor
