This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Oversee and address the complete employee exit process across various international jurisdictions, ensuring a top-notch offboarding experience for Remote's clients and their employees.
• Offer expert advice and handle client inquiries on a range of HR issues, including but not limited to termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring legal compliance and adherence to best practices.
• Lead and conduct meetings with clients and external employees, including but not limited to consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, negotiations related to separations and settlements, providing guidance on terminations, and communicating termination outcomes.
• Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in intricate terminations, balancing the interests of various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with and coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders to guarantee compliance during offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, government agencies, and trade unions.
• Prepare, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documentation with precision and detail, ensuring employee records are maintained in strict accordance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Execute offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, working alongside various internal teams such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance, to ensure all facets of the employee exit are handled accurately and promptly.
• Serve as the subject matter expert, addressing internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding concerns in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.
• Guide clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and guides, assisting them in comprehending relevant policies and processes.
• Conduct initial assessments of workplace issues, pinpointing critical facts and applicable local regulations.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure proper management of employee relations issues.
• Assist clients in grasping progressive disciplinary strategies and documentation necessities.
• Track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with relevant stakeholders.
• Actively seek out and contribute to process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall improvement of customer and employee experiences through offboarding and employee relations methodologies.
• Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with well-rounded HR skills and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance; providing thorough HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Capability to interpret and implement industrial instruments, analyze complex HR challenges, conduct research, offer practical solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar settings.
• Fundamental understanding of employee relations principles, progressive disciplinary methods, and basics of workplace investigations.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently lead challenging discussions towards positive outcomes, often amid conflicting interests, while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Business-level (advanced) proficiency in both written and spoken English, with knowledge of additional languages considered a plus.
• Eagerness and aptitude for innovation and process optimization, continuously identifying and implementing automation opportunities and advocating for best practices.
• Operational efficiency with an appreciation for meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.
• Tech-savvy, capable of successfully collaborating asynchronously across various platforms, and adapting to new and evolving systems.
• Ability to work independently and cohesively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment with numerous priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
