This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.
• Oversee and address the complete process of employee exits across various international regions, ensuring an exceptional offboarding experience for Remote's clients and their staff.
• Offer expert guidance and manage client inquiries on diverse HR issues, including but not limited to termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, while ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.
• Facilitate and lead meetings with clients and external employees, including but not limited to discussions regarding workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separations, negotiations, and providing advice on terminations, as well as delivering termination decisions.
• Advocate and negotiate favorable outcomes in intricate terminations, balancing the interests of various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with and coordinate multiple internal and external parties to ensure compliance with offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, governmental agencies, and trade unions.
• Draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documents meticulously, ensuring that employee records are maintained in strict accordance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Execute offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, working with various internal departments such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance to ensure all aspects of the employee exit are handled accurately and promptly.
• Serve as the subject-matter expert, addressing internal and external inquiries regarding all offboarding issues in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.
• Guide clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and manuals, aiding them in comprehending relevant policies and procedures.
• Conduct initial evaluations of workplace concerns, pinpointing essential facts and applicable local laws.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper management of employee relations issues.
• Assist clients in understanding progressive disciplinary methods and documentation requirements.
• Oversee ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring prompt follow-up and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, product development, and overall improvements in customer and employee experience through offboarding and employee relations processes.
• Experience in a role as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a broad set of HR skills and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience with a solid background in managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with empathy, sensitivity, and legal compliance; along with providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Capability to interpret and implement industrial instruments, analyze complex HR challenges, conduct research, deliver practical solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar settings.
• Fundamental understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline methods, and basic workplace investigation techniques.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently navigate difficult discussions towards a positive resolution, even when parties have opposing interests, while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.
• Business-level (advanced) proficiency in both written and spoken English, with proficiency in additional languages considered advantageous.
• Desire and initiative to innovate and enhance processes, continuously identifying and implementing opportunities for automation and advocating best practices.
• Operational efficiency, with an appreciation for the significance of meticulous record-keeping and data integrity.
• Tech-savvy, capable of collaborating asynchronously across various platforms, and adaptable to new and evolving systems.
• Ability to work independently and cohesively within an international team in a fast-paced, remote environment with multiple competing priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
