Licensing Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Play a pivotal role in enhancing revenue, boosting operational efficiency, and maximizing the potential of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.

• Develop, refine, and oversee revenue generation and tracking systems for out-license agreements and departmental initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in licensing, customer service, accounting, and invoicing teams to ensure the precision and promptness of information.

• Engage in straightforward external negotiations with guidance to guarantee the accuracy of agreements.

• Take ownership of and enhance existing systems for managing out-licensing agreements.

• Utilize Excel, various ERP systems, AdobeSign, Alliant, and LEDOX to organize legal documents and extract trackable events.

• Analyze newly-signed license agreements to derive trackable information.

• Foster and maintain relationships with external licensees and internal partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline, accompanied by 5+ years of experience in operational, lab management, or technology transfer within the life sciences sector.

• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a Life Science discipline with customer service experience in a life science company, including 5+ years of experience in contract management.

• Or an Associate's degree in a Life Science discipline, with 8+ years of experience in operational, lab management, or technology transfer within the life sciences field.

• Or a Paralegal background; AND 5+ years of experience in licensing or legal operations or at a legal office focused on intellectual property.

• IP/License Management certification and Contract Management Certification are required.

• Proven experience in automating communications and renewal workflows for licensees.

• Familiarity with AI technologies is advantageous.

• A process optimization mindset: assessing and implementing enhanced tracking and reporting workflows.

• Multilingual capabilities: English, German, and Chinese.
