Licensed Physician Reviewer – Orthopedic Surgery, Spine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Dane Street operates as an Independent Review Organization that provides non-traditional physician roles and supplemental income opportunities.

• This position allows for telecommuting, enabling physicians to manage a caseload tailored to their availability.

• Our panel of physicians consists of independent contract reviewers (1099) who are compensated on a per-case basis.

• We are seeking specialists in Orthopedic Surgery - Spine Surgery to evaluate the medical necessity of treatment requests.

• Reviews typically take an average of 15-20 minutes, enabling multiple cases to be assessed within an hour.

• Training and onboarding can be completed in less than one week, with compensation beginning while you continue your active practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a current, unrestricted Medical License in Louisiana.

• Must be actively practicing in the field.

• Board Certification is required.

• There is no doctor/patient relationship established, and no treatment is provided; the role focuses solely on advisory opinions.

• The typical turnaround time (TAT) for reviews is between 1-5 business days, varying based on the complexity of the review. Same-day cases are infrequent but may occur. Dane Street keeps you informed about required TAT and efficiently coordinates all administrative tasks to allow you to focus on clinical decision-making.

• Dane Street ensures a smooth case flow through a user-friendly work portal. We handle all communications, organize and manage all medical records, support all administrative processes, thoroughly prepare cases, and guarantee the quality and timely delivery of all findings and reports.

• A chronological listing of medical records, along with all treatment guidelines utilized for making determinations, is provided in an easily accessible, click-to-view format.

• In instances where peer-to-peer discussions are necessary (for adverse determinations), Dane Street’s peer coordinators will secure the provider's availability.

• Dane Street offers initial training and provides a continuous point of contact should you have any inquiries regarding the review process.
