Level 3 AWS Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, manage, and sustain cloud-based solutions primarily utilizing AWS, with additional experience in Microsoft Azure.

• Create highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments.

• Oversee and optimize AWS infrastructure encompassing compute, storage, networking, databases, serverless, and identity services.

• Provide technical assistance and support to stakeholders regarding cloud infrastructure projects.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure.

• Apply best practices in version control, modularization, reusability, and maintainability in IaC solutions.

• Create automation scripts utilizing Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing infrastructure deployment and operational efficiency.

• Deploy, manage, and optimize ECS and Kubernetes environments that support containerized applications.

• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines.

• Facilitate deployment automation to improve software delivery reliability and consistency.

• Troubleshoot issues related to containers and deployments within production environments.

• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.

• Monitor the performance of cloud infrastructure and proactively recognize potential issues.

• Optimize cloud resource utilization for cost-effectiveness and application performance.

• Investigate incidents and apply enhancements to ensure service reliability.

• Enforce cloud security best practices regarding IAM policies, encryption, networking, and infrastructure configuration.

• Ensure that cloud environments comply with organizational and industry standards.

• Collaborate with both internal and external DevOps, software engineering, and security teams.

• Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.

• Strong practical knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and managing production-grade cloud environments.

• Experience supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC); Terraform is preferred.

• Understanding of best practices for IaC, such as version control, modularization, reusability, and automated provisioning.

• Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.

• Strong experience with Git and GitHub workflows.

• Experience managing containerized applications using ECS and/or Kubernetes.

• Kubernetes experience with EKS, AKS, or self-managed clusters is highly desirable.

• Experience in collaborating with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or GitLab CI.

• Experience in implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Azure Monitor.

• Strong understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security.

• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.

• Understanding of cloud compliance and organizational security standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are highly desirable.
