Legal Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver translations that are entirely human-generated from English to the native target language utilizing the XTM CAT tool.

• Adhere to project-specific instructions, glossaries, and reference materials.

• Ensure that the concept, style, and tone of the source content are culturally and linguistically suitable.

• Conduct language quality checks prior to submission.

• Complete assignments by the designated deadlines and within project budgets.

• Review formatted PDF files in the target language and annotate corrections using Adobe markup tools.

• Maintain prompt and professional communication with members of the Prisma team.

• Engage in quality management activities, including Corrective Action Reports, Root Cause Analyses, and the implementation of solutions.

• Safeguard sensitive information, including PHI, PII, and SBU.

• Comply with Prisma's MSA and Vendor Guide policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Professional legal translator based in the United States.

• Certification from ATA or DSHS LTC in the target language pair; at least one certification is mandatory.

• Proven expertise in legal terminology, judicial processes, and court documents.

• Commitment to the ATA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.

• Minimum of two years of experience providing written translations for U.S. state courts and judicial offices.

• Compliance with Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and associated MSA Addenda.

• Proficient in both English and the target language.

• Experience with modern CAT tools; XTM will be provided.

• Capability to work with both PC and MAC formats, including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, PDFs with fillable fields, rich text, and XML/text blocks.

• Must possess Adobe Acrobat and be skilled in using Adobe's markup tools in PDF documents.

• A reliable desktop PC or laptop equipped with a dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection.

• Ability to manage quick turnaround times for small word count projects.

• Availability during after-hours and weekends is advantageous.
