This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Conduct research on Japanese commercial laws, regulatory requirements, and pertinent judicial rulings.
• Examine commercial agreements, corporate transactions, and regulatory issues.
• Review legal documents in Japanese and identify applicable statutory provisions.
• Annotate and validate legal datasets effectively.
• Confirm the accuracy of statutory citations, terminology, and interpretations.
• Assess AI-generated legal responses and highlight any incorrect or unsupported conclusions.
• Create legal summaries, contract clauses, and structured legal analyses.
• Support AI teams with prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks.
• Must possess a Japanese Attorney (Bengoshi), JD/LL.M. equivalent degree, Senior Legal Researcher experience, or be a seasoned Paralegal.
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience in commercial or regulatory law.
• Proficient in Japanese, either at an advanced or native level.
• Strong understanding of Japanese commercial and regulatory legislation.
• Exceptional skills in legal research, statutory analysis, citation verification, and drafting.
• English language proficiency is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal technology or Generative AI is an advantage.
• Flexible working hours that accommodate the applicant's schedule.
• Possibility of project extension beyond the initial 3-month period.
