Legal Subject Matter Expert – Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Offer legal insights in the areas of commercial, corporate, and financial regulatory matters.

• Conduct research on legislation, regulations, regulatory guidance, and pertinent judicial rulings.

• Examine corporate documents, commercial contracts, financial regulatory materials, and advisory documentation.

• Annotate and verify jurisdiction-specific legal datasets.

• Assess AI-generated legal responses for their accuracy, legal reasoning, and relevance to jurisdiction.

• Confirm legal citations and regulatory references.

• Draft or review legal memoranda, commercial provisions, and structured legal analyses.

• Work in conjunction with AI teams to create prompts and evaluation frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be located in Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Malaysia.

• Engagement as a Freelancer / Independent Contractor.

• Licensed Attorney, JD/LL.M. equivalent graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or seasoned Paralegal.

• At least 3+ years of relevant legal experience.

• Strong expertise in commercial law, corporate advisory, or financial regulation.

• Proficient in professional English.

• Cantonese or Mandarin preferred for candidates in Hong Kong.

• Mandarin preferred for candidates in Taiwan.

• Proficiency in Malay and/or Mandarin advantageous for candidates in Malaysia.

• Excellent legal reasoning, research, statutory analysis, and drafting skills.

• Familiarity with Generative AI and legal technology is a plus.
