Legal Fellow – Fellowship Proposals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Create a proposal for a project aimed at promoting justice for children and youth who encounter significant systemic barriers to access, opportunity, and equitable treatment.

• Submit applications for public interest fellowships with the sponsorship of NCYL.

• Upon receiving a fellowship, join NCYL as a fellow in September 2027.

• Execute the fellowship project under the guidance of NCYL staff.

• Participate in organizational and team meetings as well as retreats.

• Assist in addressing intake requests.

• Support legal research and writing tasks on other matters as required.

• Anticipating graduation from law school in Spring 2027 or having served as a law clerk since graduating from law school the previous year.

• Demonstrated interest in one or more of NCYL’s primary focus areas.

• Strong commitment to advancing justice by safeguarding the rights of children and youth, and enhancing the systems that influence their lives.

• Dedication to nurturing, developing, and maintaining a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
