Legal Documentation Translator/Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide translation and/or editing services from English to French for legal documents.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality translations and edits for legal documentation intended for a United States Government client.

• Utilize a strong understanding of legal, judicial, and technical terminology in both English and French.

• Complete assignments on-demand as required.

• Adhere to deadlines while ensuring accuracy and quality in written content.

• Operate remotely during standard Eastern Time business hours.

• Assist U.S. government and private sector organizations through language services.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience in legal translation and/or editing services.

• Native-level proficiency in French writing, with advanced skills in written English.

• Proven knowledge of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in both English and French.

• Bachelor’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a similar field.

• Familiarity with computer-assisted translation tools; experience with Trados is preferred.

• Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Applicants must be citizens of the United States.

• Willingness to undergo security clearance processing, including fingerprinting, if selected.

• Generally available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays.

• Capable of accepting on-demand assignments totaling around 10 to 15 hours per week.

• Proficient in working from English to French.
