Legal Counsel – In-house

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on legal and regulatory issues related to content, including platform liability, distribution regulations, and jurisdiction-specific limitations.

• Review and ensure compliance of user-generated and partner content with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

• Manage copyright and intellectual property issues, including licensing frameworks, rights verification, takedown requests, and dispute resolution.

• Assist Trust & Safety and Compliance teams in establishing and upholding content standards and escalation protocols.

• Draft, review, and uphold agreements related to content, encompassing creator, studio, and licensing contracts.

• Offer counsel on regulatory obligations impacting online platforms, digital content distribution, and international operations.

• Keep track of legal and regulatory changes affecting content moderation, adult content, digital services, and platform responsibilities.

• Aid in internal investigations, audits, and regulatory inquiries concerning content or platform compliance.

• Ensure the maintenance of clear legal documentation, guidelines, and internal training resources related to content compliance.

• Collaborate with external legal advisors when specialized jurisdictional expertise is necessary.

• Contribute to the company’s knowledge base by sharing best practices and key insights.

• Handle corporate and employment-related legal matters.

• Oversee finance and billing regulations (payment providers, banks, electronic money institutions) as an additional area of focus.

• Proven experience as Legal Counsel or in-house attorney within technology, media, entertainment, or consumer digital sectors.

• Comprehensive understanding of intellectual property, digital content regulations, and basic employment law.

• Capability to simplify legal complexities into clear, actionable decisions.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where responsibility is prioritized over hierarchy.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, content, product, and operations teams.
