Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements, including those related to suppliers, licensing, data protection, payments, and services;

• Assisting in the enhancement and creation of legal templates, processes, and procedures;

• Supporting the management of disputes, claims, and litigation cases;

• Monitoring and providing advice on regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in policy development;

• Offering guidance on matters such as intellectual property protection, tax, employment law, commercial law, and consumer protection law;

• Delivering practical, risk-based legal counsel to internal stakeholders across various departments;

• Identifying legal risks and recommending mitigation strategies to facilitate informed decision-making;

• Collaborating closely with teams in data protection, anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, finance, product development, and operations on everyday legal issues;

• Assisting with corporate governance matters, including board documentation and resolutions;

• Supporting corporate structuring across different jurisdictions;

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Law;

• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience as legal counsel, particularly within the igaming sector;

• Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts;

• Comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions with varying regulatory frameworks;

• Familiarity with privacy laws applicable in the EU, Gibraltar, and the US is advantageous;

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities;

• Capable of providing clear, concise, and practical legal advice;

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities;

• Commercially aware, possessing a business-oriented perspective;

• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams;
