This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, supply agreements, procurement contracts, customer agreements, and supplier agreements.
• Assist the legal team with licensing, collaboration, sponsored research, software, technology, and other complex agreements related to life sciences products, services, and technologies.
• Offer practical legal guidance on contractual, commercial, regulatory, operational, and general legal issues, while escalating more intricate matters as needed.
• Collaborate with business units, finance, operations, HR, external counsel, and other legal team members to address daily legal and contracting requirements.
• Gain insight into the company’s products, services, technologies, scientific goals, and commercial targets.
• Participate in legal projects, including updating templates, creating contract playbooks, improving processes, managing intercompany matters, providing corporate support, and other business initiatives.
• Aid in the upkeep and enhancement of contract templates, legal processes, contract lifecycle management systems, and document management practices.
• Responsibly utilize AI-enabled tools and legal technology to facilitate contract review, legal research, workflow management, template management, and knowledge sharing.
• Identify practical opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and legal technology to enhance the efficiency of the legal team, while ensuring adherence to confidentiality, accuracy, governance, and human oversight standards.
• Qualified solicitor, barrister, or an equivalent legal qualification.
• Strong PQE or comparable transactional, commercial, or in-house legal experience.
• Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Solid understanding of contract and commercial law, with a keen interest in intellectual property, licensing, technology, or life sciences-related issues.
• Capability to provide clear, practical, and commercially informed legal advice.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to operate independently on routine matters, with suitable guidance for new, complex, or higher-risk tasks.
• Meticulous attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism.
• Openness to utilizing AI-enabled tools, legal technology, contract lifecycle management systems, or document automation.
