This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Act as the primary attorney for new sales transactions, which includes drafting and negotiating software license agreements, consulting agreements, SaaS agreements, and various other commercial contracts;
• Lead Business Operations meetings and partner with IFS Softeon's business teams, offering precise and timely legal guidance with integrity and accountability, particularly to Sales, Services, Finance, Marketing, and Partner teams;
• Function as the principal attorney for legal operations, focusing on enhancing legal processes and procedures as well as developing standard contract terms;
• Act as the main attorney for corporate governance issues and provide essential legal support for audit, tax/treasury, HR/employment relations disputes, and real estate matters (leases, construction, etc.);
• Collaborate with the wider IFS Softeon legal team by sharing insights, assisting team members, and contributing to legal newsletters and training sessions as assigned by the CFO of IFS Softeon and the Legal Team;
• Support global legal initiatives as designated by the CFO and the Legal Team and liaise with external counsel when needed;
• Stay informed about legal and regulatory changes, maintain in-depth industry knowledge, and perform other tasks as assigned or delegated by the General Counsel.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial transactions at a law firm and/or within an in-house legal department
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one or more states
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and exhibit sound judgment in making real-time decisions in uncertain situations
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills
• Interest in functioning as a legal generalist
