Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial contracts, such as supplier agreements, service agreements, technology agreements, marketing and affiliate agreements, payment provider agreements, partnerships, NDAs, and other business contracts.

• Offer practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders regarding commercial, corporate, contractual, and regulatory issues.

• Assist the organization with iGaming regulatory and licensing concerns across various jurisdictions, including license applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance requirements.

• Conduct research and keep abreast of relevant legal and regulatory changes, advising stakeholders on potential impacts and necessary business adjustments.

• Aid in corporate structuring, restructuring, M&A, and other strategic initiatives, including due diligence, corporate approvals, transaction documentation, and implementation.

• Collaborate closely with the Compliance and AML teams on legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization.

• Assist in the review and execution of internal policies, terms and conditions, privacy documentation, and other legal frameworks.

• Communicate with external legal counsel, regulators, corporate service providers, and other professional advisors as necessary.

• Recognize and manage legal risks while proposing pragmatic and commercially viable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Law, preferably from Malta or another EU jurisdiction.

• At least 3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in iGaming, online gambling, fintech, crypto, or another highly regulated sector.

• Previous experience in the iGaming industry is highly desirable.

• Strong expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.

• Good comprehension of corporate, commercial, contract, and regulatory law.

• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and with international corporate structures.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently while delivering pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.

• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple complex issues simultaneously.

• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
