Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Identify and provide guidance to the company regarding legal risks stemming from organizational activities.

• Counsel company management on matters of regulatory compliance, policies, practices, procedures, and contract terms and conditions.

• Aid in supervising the implementation of company standards related to organizational activities.

• Oversee the administrative staff within the legal department and their tasks to ensure departmental goals are achieved.

• Ensure that company policies, practices, and procedures align with corporate regulatory requirements.

• Conduct research and interpret statutes, laws, rules, decisions, ordinances, and regulations.

• Develop corporate policies and procedures by assessing operational and administrative needs.

• Assist in crafting the department’s annual business plan and encourage participation from department members.

• Review, negotiate, and modify owner contracts in collaboration with operations leaders and department heads.

• Advise operations staff on contractual risks and negotiation tactics.

• Serve as the corporation's agent for designated transactions and associated projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Juris Doctorate is required.

• Must be admitted to the Bar.

• A minimum of 3-8 years of total experience is required, including expertise in general contract principles, contract and construction law, and commercial contracts.

• Experience in Renewables, Energy Parks, or similar technologies is preferred.

• Valid, independent work authorization is required; the employer cannot sponsor H-1B visas or permanent residency.
