Lecturer, Business Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Create high-quality, outcome-oriented educational content that aligns with module objectives.

• Lead engaging and interactive online learning sessions.

• Develop and implement assessments that encourage applied learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound business judgment.

• Evaluate student performance through formative, summative, and practical assessments.

• Facilitate learning in areas such as sustainable business practices, entrepreneurship, international business, and operations management.

• Assist in delivering a Business Management Capstone module that addresses complex, real-world business challenges.

• Perform internal moderation and contribute to the quality assurance of teaching materials and assessments.

• Oversee the development and review of learning materials for assigned modules.

• Provide support to students regarding academic and content-related inquiries.

• Ensure that assessment processes, marking, and results satisfy the required academic standards.

• Recruit, support, and manage part-time academic personnel as needed, including lecturers, markers, examiners, moderators, and authors.

• Collaborate with industry experts to ensure the learning content remains relevant to current business and management practices.

• Keep informed about emerging business trends, technological advancements, sustainability issues, and shifts in the local and international business landscape.

• Work together with academic and administrative teams to foster student engagement and success.

⛳️ Requirements

• A relevant master’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Operations Management, Sustainability, or a closely related field.

• Relevant professional or industry experience in business, management, entrepreneurship, operations, or a related field.

• Strong general understanding of contemporary business management, with the capability to navigate multiple business disciplines.

• Familiarity with online learning technologies and platforms.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

• A learner-centered mindset with a dedication to academic integrity and student success.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• Sound professional and ethical judgment.

• A collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.

• Adaptability and proficiency in digital tools.

• Ability to simplify complex regulatory and risk concepts into accessible, practical learning experiences.

• Teaching experience in higher education or professional learning environments would be a plus.

• Knowledge of sustainability and responsible business practices, entrepreneurship, international business, and operations management would be beneficial.

• Experience with applied, project-based, or capstone learning would be advantageous.
