Lead UX Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Drive the comprehensive design process for intricate, multi-step SaaS products — from initial problem identification to high-fidelity prototyping and handoff.

• Lead the development of cross-platform user flows, interaction models, and design specifications that transition seamlessly to engineering.

• Design AI-native product experiences — including conversational UI, predictive functionalities, AI output states, and human-AI interaction patterns — applying the same rigor as with any other product surface.

• Utilize AI design tools and agentic workflows to enhance exploration, produce design variations, and decrease time-to-validation.

• Advocate for design excellence throughout the team, establishing standards and elevating quality, consistency, and usability.

• Plan and implement user research — both generative and evaluative — to continuously guide product direction.

• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (usability studies, analytics, customer feedback, market analysis) into concise design recommendations.

• Work adeptly with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel) — extract your own data, formulate hypotheses, and link design choices to measurable outcomes.

• Identify friction points and opportunities in current experiences; drive validated improvements based on evidence, not assumptions.

• Clearly frame design problems — connecting user needs to business outcomes and technical constraints.

• Actively participate in product strategy discussions; constructively challenge proposed solutions that do not serve users or compromise long-term product integrity.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and stakeholders throughout the entire design-to-delivery process.

• Contribute to and uphold the team's design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product surface.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers; offer structured, actionable feedback on their work and processes.

• Demonstrate how to thoughtfully incorporate AI tools into a design workflow — not as a shortcut, but as a means to enhance quality and efficiency.

• Help define team processes, critique culture, and design standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of product design experience, with a proven track record of advancing into a lead or senior individual contributor role.

• Portfolio showcasing end-to-end ownership of complex B2B or enterprise SaaS product design — emphasizing design thinking beyond visual execution.

• Extensive proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and prototyping.

• Practical experience with design systems — building, scaling, and managing them.

• Strong research skills: usability testing, interviews, synthesis — capable of discerning the appropriate methods and acting on findings.

• Demonstrated data literacy: comfortable extracting and interpreting product analytics to inform and validate design decisions.

• Proven capability to influence product direction and effectively navigate stakeholder dynamics with confidence and clarity.

• Familiarity with front-end principles (HTML/CSS concepts); sufficient to design while considering engineering constraints.
