Lead Transmission Line Engineer – Grid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create designs for transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 765kV.

• Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the design team.

• Oversee design activities to ensure that installation and operations align with specifications, codes, and client needs.

• Generate reports and studies that convey technical information clearly and concisely, adhering to client specifications and S&L formats.

• Conduct independent evaluations of work completed by others, including calculations, drawing preparation, and transmission line models using PLS-CADD.

• Follow Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US-based ABET-accredited program.

• At least 12 years of experience in transmission design.

• Expertise in using PLS-CADD software.

• Experience must encompass preparation of scopes of work, development of conceptual designs, determination of design basis, selection of equipment and materials, as well as the preparation and compilation of calculations and specifications.

• Experience collaborating directly with clients on transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 500kV.

• Familiarity with engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE, and ANSI.

• Experience in reviewing design drawings produced by others.
