Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture supplier relationships to guarantee that purchase-order execution aligns with GE Grid Solutions requirements.

• Contribute to the global expansion of the supply base.

• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to meet annual Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives for key underperforming suppliers.

• Facilitate supplier selection through SRG, qualification processes, and audits.

• Execute periodic and surveillance audits of suppliers and coordinate self-assessments by suppliers.

• Assist in collecting, evaluating, and executing product-line audit requests.

• Partner with Product Lines and Global Commodity Leaders to resolve customer needs and supplier performance issues.

• Oversee non-conformity management, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.

• Identify supply chain competency gaps using KPIs and intelligence gathering; create and lead Supplier Improvement Plans.

• Collaborate with suppliers and their teams to enhance quality and delivery performance.

• Cultivate and maintain open, respectful communication with staff and suppliers.

• Engage with global suppliers in India to develop parts and products that meet unit requirements abroad.

• Define product, process, and documentation specifications while ensuring supplier compliance.

• Communicate with international colleagues regarding technical matters.

• Provide leadership during significant problem investigations and special projects involving suppliers and procurement.

• Perform pre-shipment inspections of developed and serial production components.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year institution; along with 14+ years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior experience in quality engineering, supplier quality engineering, or product development engineering in an electrical/electronic manufacturing setting.

• Experience with low-cost-country supply chains, covering Incoterms, packing standards, and documentation requirements.

• Knowledge of auditing and ISO 9001 standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language.

• Capability to read and analyze technical documentation, drawings, governmental regulations, and quality management protocols.

• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers through both written and verbal channels.

• Skill in interpreting written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.

• Competence in solving practical problems with limited standardization.

• Ability to work independently.

• Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.

• In-depth knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

• Strong ethical standards and compliance mindset.

• Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
