This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
• Collaborate with Sourcing and Engineering teams to qualify, authorize, and cultivate suppliers in accordance with sourcing strategies and long-term business objectives.
• Oversee the supplier approval process for components and assemblies related to Aero gas turbines, encompassing compressor, combustor, and turbine modules, as well as various small parts.
• Establish and implement product and process qualifications for intricate parts and assemblies to guarantee readiness for serial production.
• Evaluate and endorse Manufacturing Process Plans, Product and Process Quality Plans, control plans, and inspection plans.
• Convert critical-to-quality, customer, and regulatory requirements into supplier process controls and inspection methodologies.
• Confirm first article inspections and ongoing product verifications; monitor process capability and initiate corrective measures.
• Manage and approve Supplier Deviation Requests, ensuring that risks are evaluated, recorded, and managed.
• Propel the assessment and resolution of supplier nonconformances in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Field teams.
• Direct containment, rework, and recovery initiatives at supplier locations, assembly sites, and wind farm sites; ensure thorough closure and documentation.
• Examine Cost of Poor Quality data, field feedback, and assembly/shop concerns to identify systemic improvements in supplier performance.
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis and FMEA with suppliers to implement both corrective and preventive measures.
• Perform quality system, product, and process audits at supplier facilities, verifying compliance with GE Vernova QMS requirements, procedures, and relevant industry standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of engineering drawings (GD&T) and specifications.
• Experience and familiarity with complex machining, heat treatment, and various welding processes.
• Proven experience conducting comprehensive quality system, process, and/or product audits.
• Demonstrated capability to manage and develop vendors/suppliers effectively.
• Previous experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing/Process Quality, ideally within general manufacturing processes, machining, heat treatment, and welding.
• Strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Established ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and global team settings.
• Willingness to travel to suppliers, up to 50% of the time.
• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Experience with Gas Turbines, specifically in compressor, combustor, and turbine modules.
• Proven ability to analyze and address complex issues; document, plan, and implement projects.
• Quality training and/or relevant work experience, for example, ISO 9001.
• Training in Root Cause Analysis using a recognized methodology, such as 8D, PSR, RCA, or equivalent.
• Strong skills in FMEA, error proofing (Poka-Yoke), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent quality certification.
• Practical expertise in fabrications, welding, machining, and NDT inspection.
• Experience engaging with customers and senior leadership, including the preparation, delivery, and presentation of supplier quality initiatives.
