This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage the creation and drafting of physical design drawings for substations.
• Create Bills of Materials in accordance with design specifications.
• Collaborate with protection & controls, civil/structural, and drafting teams to guarantee high-quality deliverables.
• Assist in client meetings, technical discussions, and project planning activities.
• Engage in site visits and assessments of constructability.
• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design outputs.
• Implement client-specific standards pertaining to the work.
• Ensure adherence to industry codes (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC) and utility regulations.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems.
• Over 8 years of experience in substation physical design for electric utilities.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the capability to acquire one within 6 months.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or a comparable design software.
• Knowledge of substation design standards and practices (IEEE, NESC, utility specifications).
• Strong initiative and leadership skills to facilitate career growth.
• Experience in leading substation projects modeled in 3D utilizing Autodesk Inventor.
