This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +9 more states.
• Act as a technical authority for stormwater, drainage, flood risk, and water resources initiatives across various markets and regions.
• Offer technical oversight for engineering reports, modeling, calculations, design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Guide engineers through technical mentoring, design evaluations, model assessments, and hands-on training.
• Assist in the creation of discipline standards, design manuals, QA/QC criteria, modeling processes, and technical training materials.
• Spearhead the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, drainage infrastructure, watershed studies, flood mitigation initiatives, green infrastructure, and enhancements to water quality.
• Execute hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for both urban and rural watersheds.
• Design storm sewer systems, culverts, detention and retention facilities, conveyance systems, open channels, and drainage solutions.
• Formulate drainage master plans, watershed management strategies, flood studies, and stormwater planning documents.
• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling utilizing industry-standard software.
• Conduct watershed assessments, floodplain mapping, flood risk evaluations, drainage capacity reviews, and infrastructure resilience studies.
• Utilize modeling findings to inform planning, permitting, alternative analysis, design choices, and stakeholder communication.
• Create and assess technical reports, feasibility studies, alternative analyses, permit applications, and submissions to agencies.
• Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies on stormwater, drainage, floodplain, watershed, and water quality projects.
• Aid in permitting and regulatory coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain licensure in the relevant project jurisdictions.
• Proven experience in stormwater, drainage, and water resources engineering, including complex technical execution.
• Background in providing technical leadership, quality reviews, and guidance on water resources projects.
• Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS Pro, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in preparing or reviewing engineering reports, studies, design plans, specifications, bid documents, or construction documentation.
• Capability to convey technical information clearly to project teams, clients, and agencies.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 10–20% of the time.
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) accreditation is preferred.
• Advanced consulting experience in water resources engineering is preferred.
• Experience in mentoring engineering professionals or managing multidisciplinary technical teams is preferred.
• Experience as the engineer of record or senior technical reviewer is preferred.
• Involvement in relevant professional organizations is preferred.
• Experience presenting technical topics at conferences, workshops, webinars, or client training sessions is preferred.
• Client relationship management, market strategy, or business development experience is preferred.
