Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer

📋 Description

• Oversee software quality assurance for comprehensive Positive Train Control solutions

• Manage the product quality and development cycle process

• Provide leadership in enhancing processes, governance, measurement systems, tracking, and audit supervision

• Promote continuous improvement in process effectiveness and efficiency

• Assist engineering teams in developing, optimizing, and implementing processes while ensuring compliance with Digital Intelligence and Wabtec policies

• Lead the operational rhythm to enhance software First Pass Yield and reduce defect escape rates

• Serve as a gatekeeper for software releases, ensuring adherence to processes and application of design rigor

• Create and maintain metrics and measurement systems for ongoing improvement

• Conduct in-depth failure analysis for non-conformances and devise effective, compliant solutions to prevent recurrence and quality issues

• Audit compliance with established standards, processes, and procedures

• Perform additional duties outside the primary role or trade when properly trained

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, implementation, and/or quality assurance

• In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes

• Strong understanding of Process Assurance activities, including Process Audits and Corrective and Preventative Actions

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Ability to lead through influence while operating within a matrix environment

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)

• 7 years of experience in software design, systems, or testing (preferred)

• Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques such as Five Whys, Fish Bone Diagrams, and Fault Tree Analysis

• Knowledge of ISO requirements and lead auditor certification

• Understanding of Safety Critical Software Development or compliance with CENELEC Standards

• Knowledge of CMMI requirements
