β’ Oversee marketplace functionalities: onboarding/KYC integration, merchant configuration, settlement instructions, deductions, and alignment of invoicing/merchant statements.
β’ Ensure robust "flow-of-funds" mechanisms across the team's systems β including idempotency, ledgers/events, and audit trails that are fully supportable for finance and compliance.
β’ Develop the strategy for PSP and partner integrations, paying close attention to tri-party/sub-merchant implications when applicable.
β’ Supervise dispute/chargeback and fraud-handling processes across internal workflows and PSP tools, and promote collaboration with Ops on runbooks and escalation pathways.
β’ Collaborate closely with Product, Legal/Compliance, Finance, and Support to transform requirements into safe, testable production behavior.
β’ Elevate engineering quality in a rapidly changing domain: automated testing, secure rollouts/canaries, observability, and incident-response enhancements, with accountability for outcomes across the team.
β’ Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, or managing a team of software engineers β encompassing hiring, performance management, and career advancement.
β’ Strong backend engineering expertise in distributed systems β including microservices, asynchronous processing, resilient APIs, and eventual consistency.
β’ Practical experience with payment processes (authorization/capture/refund, webhooks, reconciliation) and βmoney correctnessβ methodologies such as idempotency keys, double-entry principles, and auditability.
β’ A robust security mindset: PCI compliance, PII protection, secrets management, least privilege, and secure coding practices.
β’ Proficiency in working within an Azure-first environment (APIs, queues/eventing, monitoring), alongside strong CI/CD and automated testing practices.
β’ Clear and confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in high-pressure situations β such as incidents, financial challenges, and compliance inquiries.
β’ Strong judgment regarding when to act swiftly, when to establish standards, and when to defer decisions, supported by evidence β balancing team capacity, technical debt, and business priorities.
