Lead Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical guidance across the fundamental subsystems of our simulation platform.

• Steer architectural choices and advocate for contemporary engineering methodologies.

• Direct the implementation of intricate features while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the codebase.

• Take ownership of the technical execution of features from the initial design phase to release.

• Convert business and product needs into detailed technical specifications.

• Perform code reviews and mentor engineers on crafting maintainable, scalable code.

• Collaborate with QA on testing strategies and provide technical insights during triage.

• Offer technical contributions during roadmap planning and highlight concerns related to technical debt.

• Work together on QA automation initiatives and enhancements to the CI/CD pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in desktop software development.

• Expertise in modern C++ (C++14 or later).

• Experience with developing Windows applications utilizing Visual Studio (2019 or later).

• Proven experience working with large, legacy codebases that follow established patterns.

• Excellent debugging and critical thinking abilities for complex, multi-module systems.

• Capacity to clearly communicate technical concepts to Product Managers, QA, Support, and fellow engineers.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
