This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the architecture, assessment, and implementation of our production photogrammetry pipeline, which includes feature detection and matching, structure from motion, multi-view stereo, monocular depth estimation, mesh reconstruction, and the essential infrastructure required for scalable operations.
• Spearhead the integration and assessment of advanced 3D reconstruction techniques, such as gaussian splats and foundation 3D models (MASt3R / DUSt3R-class and their successors), determining their role within the pipeline.
• Enhance 3D systems for efficiency, precision, and durability at production scale.
• Select the most suitable tools for each challenge—utilizing classical 3D computer vision when advantageous, and leveraging learned methods when appropriate.
• Take ownership of the most challenging technical investigations from initial assessment through to production deployment and ongoing support.
• Establish the technical standards for photogrammetry within the team—review designs, elevate the quality of experiments, and define what excellence looks like.
• Manage the production observability framework for photogrammetry, including KPIs, instrumentation (metrics, logs, dashboards, alerts), and processes to identify data-quality issues early and maintain performance at scale.
• Mentor team engineers and, within your first year, take on 1–2 direct reports, expanding your responsibilities as the sub-team grows.
• Drive the execution of the photogrammetry core roadmap in close collaboration with CV leadership. Translate strategic goals into actionable tasks, sequence them appropriately, and proactively identify potential delays to adjust plans.
• Develop debugging and investigation playbooks into reusable resources to empower the team and support the organization, reducing the need for escalations.
• Transform how the team utilizes AI throughout the SDLC—promoting the adoption of AI-first and prototype-first workflows while pushing the boundaries of what these tools can achieve for us.
• Create reusable tools that enhance team efficiency—agent skills, prompts, debugging playbooks, and custom tooling—allowing other engineers (and our support organization) to benefit from your work rather than escalating issues.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of AI tools—assessing their benefits, drawbacks, and effectiveness.
• Promote the adoption of prototype-first and AI-first development methodologies.
• Review code generated by agents with the same scrutiny as human-written code, establishing standards for trust and reliability.
• View the AI tooling landscape as dynamic: actively monitor new developments, apply them to current challenges, and advocate for effective new tools within the team.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, alongside 7+ years of professional experience in 3D Computer Vision or 3D Machine Learning.
• Extensive experience with production photogrammetry or 3D reconstruction systems at scale—having built, deployed, and managed pipelines under customer demands, rather than solely engaging in research or prototype work.
• Profound knowledge of the broader 3D perception toolkit—having expertise in at least three of the following areas: feature detection and matching, SfM, MVS, monocular depth estimation, mesh reconstruction, mesh texturing, and SLAM.
• Comfort working along the classical-versus-learned spectrum—selecting the most effective tool rather than the trendiest one.
• A proven history of agentic development (refer to the previous section). This serves as a critical criterion, not just an added benefit.
• Experience in setting technical direction for a team and developing its engineers—whether formally or informally—with a strong interest in advancing toward people leadership in the future.
• Strong aptitude for timeboxing experiments, iterating effectively, and identifying pathways to success when challenges arise.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to function effectively as a remote engineer with overlap in AM standup meetings with PST.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of distilling complex technical investigations for PMs, leadership, and fellow engineers.
• Experience with gaussian splatting and/or foundation 3D reconstruction (MASt3R, DUSt3R, or similar).
• Proficiency in C++ for performance-critical tasks.
• Familiarity with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent) and contemporary training stacks.
• Experience in running and monitoring numerous concurrent ML experiments in cloud environments.
• Comfort with cloud processing (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with geospatial systems or aerial imagery pipelines.
• Culture of Innovation & Collaboration – Thrive in an environment that values creativity and teamwork.
• Drone Certification – Get certified and gain unique, hands-on skills with our full backing.
• Flexible Work Arrangements – Enjoy autonomy with remote-first options and schedule flexibility.
• Paid Family Leave – Take the time you need to support your family during life’s most important moments.
• Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage – Plans designed to support your well-being.
• Career & Growth Development – Build new skills and unlock opportunities through continuous learning.
• Flexible PTO – Take time off when you need it to recharge—we trust you to manage your time well.
• Employee Referral Bonus – Know someone great? Refer them and earn a bonus when they join our team.
