Lead ServiceNow Architect – CMDB, VR & SIR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee three consecutive workstreams: enhancing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM), executing Vulnerability Response, and implementing Security Incident Response.

• Document the requirements for CMDB and Configuration Data Management.

• Establish Configuration Item types, attributes, relationships, identification and reconciliation rules, lifecycles, and data-population methods.

• Review and execute the Common Service Data Model.

• Set up integrations and discovery schedules.

• Conduct initial data-load reconciliation and iterative accuracy assessments.

• Create CMDB health KPIs, reports, and dashboards.

• Link the CMDB with ITSM Change Management, Vulnerability Response, Security Incident Response, Application Business Portfolio, and Asset Management.

• Configure forms and workspaces.

• Install and set up ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.

• Integrate with NVD, CWE, CISA KEV, and vulnerability scanners.

• Configure roles, permissions, CI lookup, assignment, grouping, remediation, and risk-calculation rules for Vulnerability Response.

• Establish remediation SLAs, exception workflows, notifications, reports, dashboards, and watch topics.

• Facilitate ITSM Change Management linkage and solution management.

• Install and configure ServiceNow Security Incident Response.

• Integrate with Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Splunk, and inbound email.

• Configure incident-response processes in accordance with NIST and SANS frameworks.

• Set up threat-intelligence feeds utilizing STIX/TAXII and email sources.

• Develop playbooks, runbook knowledge content, notifications, reports, dashboards, workspaces, and the security incident catalog.

• Document the solution and provide training to staff across all three workstreams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in ServiceNow implementation.

• At least three years of experience in ServiceNow architecture, including designing, developing, and customizing solutions.

• A minimum of three years of practical experience with CMDB/CSDM.

• At least three years of experience in implementing and configuring Vulnerability Response.

• Minimum of three years of experience in implementing and configuring Security Incident Response.

• At least three years of experience documenting CMDB requirements and defining CI scope and types.

• A minimum of three years of experience developing KPIs and metrics.

• At least three years of experience configuring integrations and discovery schedules.

• Minimum of three years of experience in ITSM Change Management.

• Ability to write documentation, manage project activities, and train staff effectively.

• Must be willing and able to undergo customer-required background screening, DOE badging, and any relevant clearance process.

• Must be able to travel to Morgantown, West Virginia, for badging purposes.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, both now and in the future.
