Lead Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate security architectures, trust boundaries, defensive measures, and secure integration strategies.

• Develop capabilities for identity, endpoint, network, cloud, application, logging, vulnerability management, and data protection.

• Direct technical risk evaluations, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, remediation strategies, and security testing.

• Assist in incident investigation, containment, recovery, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

• Establish engineering standards, assess designs, mentor team members, and coordinate security efforts across various programs.

• Provide support for NIST, RMF, CMMC, FedRAMP, or security documentation and evidence specific to contracts as necessary.

• Collaborate with technical, program, and customer teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least seven years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, including technical leadership in complex security projects.

• Extensive knowledge of security architecture, identity, networks, endpoints, cloud technologies, vulnerability management, incident response, and secure engineering practices.

• Capability to make risk-based decisions and produce clear technical documentation as well as customer-facing materials.

• Employment is contingent upon passing required background checks.

• Some roles may necessitate the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust determination or security clearance.

• Preferred: Experience in federal, defense, CUI, classified, FedRAMP, or other regulated environments.

• Preferred: Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, Security+, cloud security, or other relevant credentials.

• Preferred: Familiarity with RMF authorization packages, security automation, zero trust, or DevSecOps methodologies.
