This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Technical Sales Application Engineer (AE) acts as the liaison between Sales, commercial, Engineering, fellow AEs in the Factory, customers, and the Execution team.
• In this position, you will facilitate business expansion by partnering with the Regional Sales team to create detailed bid proposals for Field Interventions, Maintenance (VFDs, Motors, Generators), Repairs, Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), and Control & Modernization Upgrades (CMU) for Power Electronics and related systems (Excitation/AVR).
• The AE is accountable for the technical solutions and their associated costs.
• In addition to proposal formulation, the AE leads service campaigns—monitoring progress with sales managers and supplying the technical support necessary to generate leads and finalize deals in the Oil & Gas, Industry, Power Generation, Marine, Synchronous condenser, and Heavy Industry (Metals, Mining, Material Handling) sectors.
• The AE must be self-sufficient in leading campaigns and handling customer meetings.
• Acquiring specialized knowledge of the latest commercial advancements in their field and possessing communication skills to influence others is essential.
• Contributes to strategy and policy formulation, ensuring effective delivery within their area of responsibility.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of best practices and how their area integrates with others; has an understanding of competitors and the elements that set them apart in the market.
• Utilizes judgment to make decisions or address moderately complex tasks or challenges within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns, or clients.
• Approaches existing solutions with a fresh perspective. Leverages technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
• Serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
• Communicates complex or sensitive information; strives to foster consensus.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience with HV VFD systems and Electrical Rotating machinery, with knowledge of associated systems (AVR, Excitation, Process control, Automation PLC systems).
• Previous experience in bid preparation and cost model development.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic and French will be advantageous.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead programs/projects.
• Skilled in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
