Lead Sales Engineer, Enterprise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Enterprise customers to gain insights into their business needs, use cases, and facilitate pre-sales discovery and solution engagements across all levels of enterprise audiences.

• Strategically plan, manage, and successfully conclude technical demonstrations and proof of concept (POC) initiatives, often taking on the roles of both subject matter expert and project manager.

• Address technical inquiries, including Requests for Information (RFIs), Proposals (RFPs), and other formal documentation.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners.

• Empower Fivetran personnel, partner teams, and the broader data engineering community regarding data concepts, product features, competitive positioning, and best practices through various mediums such as blog articles, group presentations, training sessions, recorded videos, and one-on-one coaching.

• Collaborate closely with Fivetran’s Product and Engineering teams to ensure our solutions align with the needs of Enterprise customers.

• Provide technical guidance and support to new customers for successful adoption and scaling of solutions.

• Maintain a deep understanding of and a positive reputation within the Australia and New Zealand region.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a closely related technical field.

• Background in Data Replication/Integration (CDC) tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, and scalable data infrastructures suitable for AI use cases.

• Expertise in SQL scripting.

• Familiarity with Python/JavaScript and REST API interactions.

• Practical experience with modern databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, SAP) in both on-premise and cloud environments.

• Working knowledge of one or more leading cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Acquainted with contemporary cloud data warehousing solutions (Snowflake or Databricks) and data lake architectures (Iceberg, Delta, etc.).

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for conveying complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• A strong enthusiasm for data and analytics, coupled with a belief in utilizing technology to address business challenges.

• Robust problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Eagerness to learn and assimilate technical information swiftly, along with a desire to share knowledge and educate others.

• Proven experience in selling to and influencing diverse decision-making groups within large and complex organizations.
