This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert product strategy and regulatory requirements into actionable tasks for Agile delivery teams that support Humana's Interoperability Compliance portfolio.
• Oversee backlog management, feature input, user story creation, acceptance criteria formulation, and delivery execution.
• Enhance product value for Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) APIs, FHIR-based interoperability solutions, and compliance initiatives.
• Act as the main point of contact among business stakeholders, compliance teams, product management, architects, and delivery teams.
• Analyze CMS interoperability regulations, prior authorization requirements, implementation timelines, and industry standards.
• Provide Agile teams with context and guidance on strategic initiatives while balancing compliance, business value, and technical priorities.
• Function as the Agile team's primary source for information, work prioritization, and decision-making.
• Use independent judgment on regulatory interpretation, product execution, stakeholder alignment, and delivery priorities.
• Mentor others in establishing best practices.
• Lead discussions on requirements, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance activities.
• Develop and maintain product documentation, backlog artifacts, training materials, process flows, user stories, operational procedures, and presentation content.
• Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Over 4 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or in a related role focused on healthcare technology initiatives.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and Agile product management tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira.
• Skilled in translating complex business, regulatory, and operational requirements into user stories and product backlogs.
• Solid understanding of healthcare interoperability concepts, APIs, and healthcare data exchange workflows.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Compliance, Operations, and Business stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize competing requirements while balancing business value, compliance obligations, and technical dependencies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience facilitating discussions on requirements, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance activities.
• Capacity to work independently and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Proven ability to create and maintain product documentation, backlog artifacts, training materials, process flows, user stories, operational procedures, and presentation content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) workflows, FHIR APIs, Da Vinci Implementation Guides, HL7 FHIR standards, and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
• Experience with CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule requirements is preferred.
• Previous experience with Prior Authorization systems, utilization management processes, payer-provider workflows, or healthcare operations is preferred.
• Preferred certifications include SAFe Agile Certification, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or similar Agile certification.
• Experience working with vendors, healthcare providers, EHR partners, or interoperability solution providers is preferred.
• Familiarity with Patient Access, Provider Access, Payer-to-Payer, and Prior Authorization APIs is preferred.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for backlog management, feature planning, and Agile reporting is preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance, CMS mandates, and health information exchange initiatives is preferred.
• Participation in interoperability testing, implementation, or production support activities is preferred.
• A Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Must have home internet service with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
• Ability to work from a dedicated workspace without interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel to Humana offices may be necessary.
