Lead Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of product design for intricate customer journeys, encompassing problem identification, exploration, launch, and iterative improvements.

• Cultivate a thorough understanding of customer needs, behaviors, and workflows related to payments, treasury, digital assets, and blockchain-based products.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Research, and other key stakeholders to define, scope, and prioritize significant customer and business challenges.

• Leverage qualitative research, quantitative data, and product insights to guide design direction and impact cross-functional decision-making.

• Facilitate alignment on complex design challenges, effectively communicating rationale, trade-offs, and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Recognize patterns and opportunities across product domains to create cohesive, scalable experiences and enhance Circle’s design system.

• Enhance design quality by contributing to team practices, offering constructive critiques, and mentoring other designers through intricate projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in product, UX, or interaction design, with a proven track record of managing complex end-to-end digital product experiences.

• A robust portfolio showcasing product thinking, craftsmanship, and measurable outcomes across complex customer challenges.

• Experience in designing intricate workflows or platforms that involve interconnected products, systems, or user journeys.

• Strong systems thinking capabilities, balancing customer needs, business goals, technical limitations, and long-term scalability.

• Proven experience collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape product strategy, priorities, and execution.

• Ability to utilize research, data, and customer insights to make informed design choices and foster alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Preferred: Experience in contributing to or scaling design systems, design operations, or shared product experience standards.

• Preferred: Background in designing products within fintech, payments, financial services, crypto, blockchain, or other complex regulated sectors.

• Preferred: Experience mentoring designers, facilitating design critiques, or enhancing design quality and practices within a team.
