Lead Pilot – Cessna 337, Instructor Pilot (IP)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the senior line pilot responsible for leading the aircrew, ensuring standardization, training, and executing missions.

• Maintain qualifications as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for the Cessna 337G/H Skymaster.

• Offer mentorship, flight instruction, pilot proficiency evaluations, and assistance with daily flight operations.

• Guarantee aircrew qualifications and mission readiness in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, DCMA 8210.D standards, and government directives.

• Collaborate with US Government Flight Operations personnel and GFR Flight Operations as needed.

• Serve as the Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO).

• Execute qualified Cessna 337 Pilot-in-Command responsibilities.

• Provide daily operational oversight to assigned pilots and assist Flight Operations leadership.

• Develop, implement, and document various types of training, including initial, transition, recurrent, continuation, instrument, emergency procedures, and mission-focused training.

• Recommend pilots for qualifications or additional training based on their proficiency levels.

• Standardize pilot techniques, procedures, checklist discipline, mission planning, crew coordination, risk management, and aircraft operations.

• Maintain comprehensive pilot training folders, qualification records, currency tracking, flight evaluations, and necessary documentation.

• Assist in the development of training syllabi, lesson plans, standardization guides, operating procedures, checklists, and flight operations forms.

• Coordinate pilot schedules, training sessions, currency events, and operational coverage.

• Identify and escalate issues related to qualifications, proficiency, staffing, and operational risks.

• Interact with Government representatives and support GFR qualification and evaluation requirements.

• Engage in safety reviews, operational risk management, mishap prevention, lessons learned, and corrective action initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree.

• At least two (2) years of experience in supervising or leading teams and projects.

• 2,000 hours of total flight time.

• 1,000 hours of documented PIC time.

• 300 hours of PIC time in a Cessna 337 or a similar aircraft type.

• Valid FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

• Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane (CFI) and Instrument Airplane (CFII) ratings.

• Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Airplane Multiengine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings suitable for the operation.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Minimum age requirement of 21.

• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

• Possess a valid passport and state driver’s license.

• Hold an active DoD Secret clearance or a higher level of clearance.

• Ability to successfully fulfill all contractual program training requirements.

• Capability to pass background checks and pre-employment as well as active-employment drug screenings.

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

• Ability to function effectively in dynamic ISR mission environments.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic flight management systems.

• Preferred qualifications include an active DoD Top Secret clearance, FAA MEI rating, over 2,000 hours of PIC in a similar multi-engine turboprop aircraft, 200 hours of actual instrument time, relevant Skymaster-family PIC/instructional experience, and prior military/DEA/contracting ISR pilot experience.
