This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver subject matter expertise related to products to assist with manufacturing line setup and new product introduction (NPI) activities for CPO systems in Jabil’s facilities.
• Create test strategies, quality control checkpoints, and rework processes in collaboration with the test engineering and industrial engineering teams to ensure process control, early fault identification, and effective rework procedures.
• Establish yield, throughput, and parametric-data dashboards for integration with the work cell and data engineering teams.
• Engage in client discussions to gather specifications and requirements necessary for the design of CPO systems.
• Provide support during the product design phase with guidance on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Educate and offer technical support to factory product engineers throughout the manufacturing NPI and volume ramp stages.
• Sustain continuous collaboration with factory operations and engineering teams to drive ongoing process enhancements and yield improvements.
• A relevant 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 6 years of development or product engineering experience in photonics communication systems (such as optical engines, transceivers, switch boxes, or networking racks) within the datacom or telecom sector is required.
• Must possess in-depth knowledge of photonics and optical communication links, including specifications and testing methods for defect detection in both R&D and manufacturing contexts.
• Ability to set up DC/RF electro-optical test benches hands-on, including basic test automation scripting in Python or a similar language.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and methodical in approach.
• Capable of addressing engineering challenges and designing structured R&D programs for process development.
• Self-directed, action-driven, entrepreneurial, with a strong sense of product ownership.
• Experience working with manufacturing partners or in-house manufacturing of optical communication systems is a plus.
• Experience in product engineering during NPI and volume manufacturing ramp phases for optical communication components, modules, or systems is advantageous.
• Advanced degrees in electrical engineering or applied physics are strongly preferred.
